The 2007 JOS FESTIVAL OF THEATRE opens in Jos, Plateau State under the sponsorship of the Ford Foundation.
The following plays will be showcased:

SWEET REVENGE written by Irene Salami and directed by Israel Wekpe

BEYOND THE SUNSET written by Lekan Balogun and directed by Austin Okonkwo

ANTIGONE written by Jean Anouilh and directed by Patrick-Jude Oteh

SIZWE BANSI IS DEAD devised by the Workshop Ensemble

BARA written by Folorunsho Moshood and directed by Toyin Bifarin-Ogundeji

DOMIN TSOYAYA (FOR THE SAKE OF LOVE) – DANCE DRAMA choreographed by Yakubu Nyango with the Kutelu Dance Ensemble


THE FESTIVAL RUNS FROM 16TH – 25TH FEBRUARY 2007

VENUE WILL BE THE CREST HOTEL & GARDENS, OLD AIRPORT ROAD, JOS (festival participants will also be accommodated here).

ALL PERFORMANCES WILL OPEN AT 6.30PM

TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE GATE.

NEW PLAYWRIGHTS WILL ALSO DISCUSS THEIR WORK AS WELL AS WORKS IN PROGRSS IN POST PERFORMANCE DISCUSSIONS.

ANTIGONE will also play in the fringe at the French Cultural Centre, opposite Joseph Gomwalk House (STANDARD BUILDING), JOS on the 24th February 2007 at 6.00pm.
